Accessibility
Last updated September 27, 2026
We want everyone to be able to use Rarestone and rarestone.app, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA on our website and to follow Apple's accessibility guidelines in the app.
What we do
- The app supports VoiceOver: buttons have spoken labels and results are read as text.
- Text in the app grows with your iPhone's text size setting.
- Rarity is shown with words ("Rare", "Uncommon") as well as color.
- The website works with a keyboard, shows a visible focus outline, and meets contrast guidelines for text.
Known limitations
Pointing the camera at rocks is a visual task, so the live scanning view is harder to use without sight. Identification results, saved finds and settings are all available to VoiceOver. We're working to improve this and welcome suggestions.
Need help or found a problem?
If something in Rarestone is hard to use, email support@rarestone.app with "Accessibility" in the subject. Tell us what you were trying to do and what device and assistive technology you use. We'll reply within 2 business days and work with you to fix it or find another way to get you what you need.
